Hey, I’m Hannah, the face behind Hannah Lucy Photography & thank you for visiting my page…
I am a wife to Neil and proud mum to Jackson, who is my little bestie. He’s just started school and I miss our little weekday trips!
He fills my days with so much laughter and also a large amount of mischief! Motherhood has taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of cherishing each moment as time really does go by so fast.
Outside of work and mum life, things are just as lively. I love swimming, running and training for Hyrox (both solo and doubles), and you’ll usually find me in the gym balancing out my deep love for coffee and cake (coffee cake is my absolute fave) during editing marathons.
I’m a total people-person, so I’m happiest catching up with friends over dinner or co-working in cosy local coffee shops… self-employed life can be a little lonely at times so I do make the effort to get out the house!
So, whether I’m shooting your dream wedding or photographing the precious early days into parenthood, I look forward to meeting you & documenting those moments together.

What got me into photography?
I’ve always been a naturally arty person and loved taking photos growing up, but I never truly imagined photography becoming my career. It all began quite unexpectedly when I had a spare slot on my A-level timetable and photography happened to be the subject that filled the gap. Ironically, it became the only subject I actually left college with a qualification in, as I underwent major spinal surgery for scoliosis during my final year, which completely changed my plans at the time.
My assessments were all shot on film, which gave me a strong understanding of the foundations of photography. After leaving college, I went on to teach myself Photoshop and fully immerse myself in digital photography. Since then, my style has continued to evolve as I grow, learn and gain experience. I truly believe there is always room for improvement, creativity and progression, and that mindset is something I carry with me into every single shoot. I always love trying out new shooting styles and lighting techniques! :)
My family played a crucial role in helping me get started. They leant me money for workshops, supported my learning, and even helped me purchase my very first DSLR camera, something I will always be incredibly grateful for.
I officially launched Hannah Lucy Photography at the end of 2013 whilst still working a full-time 9–5 job that, if I’m honest, brought me very little joy (although I absolutely loved having colleagues!).
In 2018, I finally took the leap and went full-time with my photography business and I’ve never looked back. Well… aside from Covid (let’s not dwell on that!), which was a challenging period for the entire industry. Even so, I can honestly say I now have my dream job, and it’s something that’s pretty obvious if you ever see me in my element at a wedding or cuddling a newborn during a shoot.
