Alice & Kieran’s Sunny Spring Wedding at Farbridge
After what felt like weeks (or months!) of rain at the start of the year, Alice and Kieran’s wedding day at Farbridgebrought the most welcome change — beautiful sunshine, crisp fresh air and the perfect light for a spring wedding. It honestly couldn’t have been more perfect.
And I have to say… Farbridge might just be my new favourite barn venue.
The whole day ran so smoothly thanks to the amazing team there. Having a super organised coordinator makes such a difference, and it meant Alice and Kieran could just relax and enjoy their day surrounded by their favourite people.
Getting Ready
Alice got ready with her bridesmaids looking absolutely stunning in their dresses from Azazie, while her Maid of Honour, Danielle Tranter, did the bridal hair. Alice’s mum created the most beautiful natural makeup look for her – such a lovely personal touch for the morning preparations.
Her dress from The Bridal Mill was just gorgeous — elegant, timeless and perfect for the barn setting. Meanwhile, Kieran and the groomsmen looked very sharp in their suits from Moss.
The flowers from Hedge Rose were incredible and worked so beautifully with the rustic barn setting at Farbridge.
A Bright (But Fresh!) Ceremony
Even though it was still a little chilly, the sunshine made everything feel bright and joyful. That early spring light is always so lovely for photos, and the barn and surrounding countryside at Farbridge make such a stunning backdrop.
Alice and Kieran’s guests were clearly ready to celebrate from the very beginning… and things got loud pretty quickly!
The Tambourine Entrance
In what might be one of my favourite wedding entrances ever, Alice and Kieran gave all their guests tambourines to shake as they walked into their reception.
Their entrance song?
“Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)” by ABBA.
You can imagine how that sounded with a room full of people enthusiastically shaking tambourines… chaotic, hilarious and absolutely brilliant.
A Surprise from the Singing Waiters
Just when everyone thought the fun had settled down, the next surprise arrived.
During Kieran’s speech, a member of staff from Farbridge suddenly started singing… and then another joined in… and another…
The guests slowly realised these weren’t actually staff at all — they were The Singing Waiters, who had been secretly planted in the room!
It completely transformed the atmosphere. Within minutes everyone was on their feet singing, clapping and dancing. It was the perfect way to kick-start the evening party.
Trying Something New with Flash Photography
This wedding was also a little creative experiment for me. I tried using direct flash for some parts of the day to give a slightly more editorial, modern feel to some of the photos.
I absolutely love the results. It adds a bit of edge and personality to certain moments, especially during the evening when the party really gets going.
Sparkler Magic
Just before the first dance, we headed outside for a sparkler moment.
By this point it was completely dark, so I set up a video light and used direct flash to capture the moment. The combination worked so well and created some really dramatic, fun images with everyone gathered around.
Definitely one of my favourite parts of the day.
Dancing the Night Away
After their first dance, the party kicked up another level when Si Sax joined the dancefloor with his saxophone.
If you’ve never seen a sax player roaming around a dancefloor at a wedding… it’s always a good time. The energy was amazing and it was the perfect way to finish such a brilliant day.
Alice and Kieran — thank you so much for trusting me to capture your wedding. It was such a fun day from start to finish, and I’m still not sure my ears have fully recovered from the tambourines!
