A GORGEOUS PREGNANCY SHOOT; IN THE COMFORT OF HER OWN HOME
There’s something extra special about photographing people you love, and my sister’s pregnancy shoot was no exception. We decided to keep things relaxed and meaningful by capturing it in the comfort of her own home – the place where so many memories are already being made, and where her next chapter is about to begin. It was also 0 degrees outside so we didn’t have much of a choice hahaha.
Now, when people think of “at-home shoots,” they often imagine perfectly styled spaces with endless natural light… but real homes are real life – radiators, DIY projects, half-finished rooms and all! And honestly? That’s part of the fun. We shifted furniture around, worked our way through different corners of the house, and made the most of every bit of window light we could find. I am a trusted Gosport Pregnancy Photographer.
There were a few little challenges along the way – radiators to dodge, bits and bobs to tidy, and a few elements that needed a little help in editing later on. But that’s the beauty of lifestyle photography: it’s not about perfection, it’s about connection, emotion, and telling a real story. And if that means editing out a radiator or two to keep the focus on the moment, I’m all for it. (Thank goodness for generative fill in photoshop!)
Being in her own space helped my sister (and my nephew) relax, which always makes such a difference in the final images. The result? Photographs that feel authentic, intimate, and full of love. What do you think? I love that I am a Gosport Pregnancy Photographer!
This session was a perfect reminder of why I adore home maternity shoots. They’re personal, meaningful, and completely unique to each family. Your home tells your story… the little corners, the light, the quiet moments and I love capturing that.
